Annual meeting of the Honorary Consuls of France in the Midwest
The annual meeting of the Honorary Consuls of France for the Midwest region was held November 30th and December 1st in Chicago.
Ten Honorary Consuls are representing the French interests in the Midwest. Nine of them were present at the annual meeting, Martin Baier (Indiana), Mark Schlenker (Iowa), Cyprienne Simchowitz (Kansas), Jean Mallebay-Vacqueur (Michigan), Christina Selander Bouzouina (Minnesota), Henry Biggs (Missouri), Cédric Fichepain (Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota), Anne Cappel (Ohio - South) and Stephen "Josh" Knerly (Ohio - North).
On November 30th, a joint reception hosted by the Consuls General of France and Germany Guillaume Lacroix and Herbert Quelle took place at the residence of France to welcome the Honorary Consuls of France and their German counterparts.
On December 1st, the Honorary Consuls of France’s work session included topics such as the safety of the community in the Midwest in the presence of the Consular Counsellors, Charles Balesi, Patrick Bourbon, Aline Delpierre and Sylvette Nicolini as well as Corinne Manaranche representing the Lycée Français de Chicago. Discussions also focused on the various initiatives of the French services and the image of France in the Midwestern states.
