Scientific Mediation Seminar on Water Management: Developing International Cooperation
In the perspective of international cooperation, the Office for Science and Technology at the French Consulate in Chicago organize a seminar / Round table meeting on “Scientific Mediation and Water Management” from April, 17th to April 19th, 2013.
The objective is to evoke the creation of projects that seek to raise awareness and mobilize youth and civil society at large. Scientific mediation allows this transfer of knowledge between experts at the heart of tomorrow’s innovations and the youth of today, which will become the citizens of the future. The challenges tied to water are within a global issue, but each region has its own local context and its own difficulties in regards to water that need to be solved both individually and with collaboration.
French, American and International organization will participate to create those projects as the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA), the Argonne National Laboratory, the Universidade Federal Minas Girais (Brazil), the Education and Sciences Superior Institut (Portugal), or the Alliance for the Great Lakes.
The seminar will consist of a workshop will permit the international institutions participating in the event to present their strategies, programs and priorities on the theme of water and on scientific mediation (on a local, national or international level), and two round tables, will allow participants to work and reflect on the types of actions and projects that can be created on an international level.
