OCTOBER 10, 2010: WORLD DAY AGAINST DEATH PENALTY
Created in 2003 at the initiative of numerous organizations gathered under the banner "World Coalition Against the Death Penalty", this day has been officially recognized by the EU and by the European Council in 2007. The engagement of France in favor of the universal abolition of the death penalty is resolute and constant. This combat constitutes one of its priorities on the issue of Human Rights at the international level. It also represents a priority axis of the common action of the European Union.
